alexander residence
    - pittsburgh, pa - 2005

This addition included a kitchen and family room and a full basement playroom on the back of this Pittsburgh home. The owners wanted an open, airy feeling, which was accomplished using a vaulted ceiling, gabled fireplace niche, and lots of large windows. The extensive windows allow light to pass through the addition and into the exisitng house in a way that keeps the original spaces from feeling dark.

In addition to the obvious scope of work, this project included the remodeling of the existing powder room as well as converting the previous kitchen into a mud room and first floor laundry room.

This is a Lami Grubb Architects project.
Brian Viehland was their Project Architect for this job.
